Q: Where would you recommend we stay if we are traveling to Chelan from out of town?

A: We highly recommend contacting Chelan Vacation Properties.  They have everything from lake front estates to spacious condominiums at rates comparable to any of the hotels that you will find in the area.  They are even extending a 10% discount to all race participants!  Just use the promo code: "MARATHON" For more information check out the accommodations page.

Q: When do I need to be at Don Morse City Park on Saturday?

A: You will need to be at Don Morse City Park at least 30 minutes prior to the departure of your race shuttle.  Upon arrival to Don Morse City Park, you will need to pick-up you race Timing Chip.  No racer will be allowed on the course without first picking-up their timing chip.  For more information on the Schedule of Events, check out the following page .


Q: What do I get for entering and finishing the race?

A: Everyone that enters the race will receive a custom designed long sleeve participant shirt, a racer bag filled with a plethora of goodies, entrance into the raffle filled with a bevy of prizes, and a chance to run in one of the Northwest's premier races.  Once you cross the finish line you will be presented with a custom designed die cast medal that is sure to steal the show on your wall of fame at home.


Q: If I need to park at Don Morse City Park, how do I get back to my car after the race?

A: We will have shuttles running between Don Morse City Park and the finish line throughout the day.  For a detailed shuttle schedule check-out the Schedule of Events page.


Q: How do we get to the awards ceremony after the race?

A: Two ways.  You can take the shuttle back to your car and drive to the Wapato Point Cellars Restaurant or you can just take the shuttle to the awards site.  Every shuttle will make three stops; Parking Area (Don Morse City Park), Finish Line (Manson Bay Park), & Awards Site (Wapato Point Cellars).


Q: Will there be restrooms on the race course?

A: There will be (4) locations along the course where portable bathrooms will be provided: Mile 1, 13, 20 & 26.  For more information on restrooms check out the Race Details page.


Q: What will the aid stations feature?

A: Every aid station will feature water.  Most of the aid stations will also feature Hammer Nutrition Endurnace products and a variety of salty and energy based snacks.  For more information on aid stations check out the Race Details page.


Q: What roads will we be running on?

Q: Will the roads be closed to traffic?

A: The road ways will not be closed to traffic, however there will be sufficient signage placed along the road way along with human "flaggers" to help alert traffic during the race.


Q: Can we register on race day?

A: NO. To ensure that we get everyone properly timed and registered there will be no race day registration.  You can however register at the following locations after on-line registration closes:

Thursday:  Super Jock N Jill, Seattle, WA  2:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Friday: Lake Chelan Winery, Chelan, WA  2:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Q: When and where do I get my timing chip?

A: Timing chips will be provided on race morning at Don Morse City Park (parking area).  Please budget a little extra time race morning to ensure that you have enough time to get your Timing Chip before getting on the bus.  Check out the Schedule of Events page for more information and updated times.


Q: Can a friend, teammate, wife/husband or family member pick-up my race packet for me?

A: No.  Only you as the race participant can pick-up your race packet.  You MUST provide a photo ID or be accompanied by a legal guardian in order to pick-up your packet.  For more information on race packet locations check out the Schedule of Events page.


Q: What else is going on in the Lake Chelan area over the race weekend?

A: On Friday night from 6 pm - 9 pm the J-Byrds will be headling the Chelan Summer Grooves Concert at the River Pavilion in downtown Chelan.  Admission is free and food and wine samples will be available for purchase: info.  After the race everyone is heading over to the Lake Chelan State Park for the 2009 Music Fest where your race bib gets you in for free!  For more information on everything available in the Chelan area check out the official Lake Chelan Tourism site.
